About the Law Center

The Chattahoochee Family Law Information Center (CFLIC) website was developed to assist residents of Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Talbot and Taylor counties who wish to represent themselves in domestic legal matters or educate themselves about domestic issues.

CFLIC website has legal form packets and instructions to assist ONLY in the following area: Legitimation. CFLIC website is in the process of updating form packets and instructions to assist with divorce (with and without children), contempt, child custody and visitation modifications, modification of child support and name changes.

If you need assistance filling out your Legitimation Forms you may come to The Office of Dispute Resolution (Legitimation Station) at 308 10th Street, Columbus, GA 31901 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Friday of each month. You must arrive by 10:30 to ensure you will be served that day. The process takes about 1 hour per person. This is a Needs Based Program. ALL RECIPIENTS OF SERVICES MUST PROVE THEIR INCOME by bringing financial documentation to show need. If child support has already been established then recipients should bring a copy of the documentation. 

The Legitimation Station does not provide legal advice. Only a lawyer may provide you with legal advice. The Legitimation Station recommends that you seek the advice of a lawyer who will be familiar not only with the law but will also be familiar with the procedures of the court.

Most family law cases are heard by Superior Courts. The Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit consists of the following Superior Courts:
